We all have within us the capacity for change and the potential for growth

I offer short term counselling and long term therapy to adults and adolescents who are seeking to explore and change patterns of behaviour, thoughts and feelings which are causing obstruction and difficulty in the way they live their lives.  Recognition of these patterns is the beginning of the journey towards self-cure.

I have extensive experience working with adults, teenagers and children in a variety of settings.

This has included Group Family Conferencing, sessions with parents on Parenting Skills and individual long term therapy.   I engage across cultures with Asian, European, Pacific Island and Maori clients.

I have worked both here and in the UK within agency and hospital settings.  In NZ this included the ‘Ministry for Vulnerable Children’ and in England, the King’s College & Maudsley hospitals.  There I supported adults and young people experiencing varying degrees of mental health issues, in particular Anxiety, Depression and Grief and Loss.  I have also worked with older age groups 65+ and the attendant difficulties and changes of this stage of life.

Diploma Counselling - B.A. (Hons). - Dip. Drama - Advanced training in IDT Therapy.

Registered member of the NZ Association of Counsellors (MNZAC).

I was first introduced to therapy through the  psychotherapeutic work of Carl Jung. Through this work I understood that, when we encounter life's difficult challenges, there is a need to try and make sense of them and discover what they mean for us.  I approach such challenges as opportunities to examine the way we live, with a view to making positive changes.
